The children loved our snow day. They all had warm coats, hats and gloves and are learning the importance of appropriate clothing for cold weather.
Our children’s independence is growing every day and they are able to get dressed for outdoor play. They enjoyed scooping the snow and rolling snowballs, a lovely alternative gross motor movement. Some of the children filled a wheelbarrow and were able to steer it around the playground as well as working cooperatively as a team to get as much snow as they could.
Our children have been very interested in learning about arctic animals and were delighted that two little penguins paid them a visit. They are observing the world around them and are noticing changes in weather, beginning to make predictions “What will the weather be like tomorrow?”
