Aims
Here is a selection of activities and links to our curriculum.
Personal , Social and Emotional Development
- To continue to support children in carrying out self-care tasks; cleaning their nose, putting on their coat/shoes.
- Valentine’s Day: talking about people we love and why.
The Arts
- Artistic learning opportunities will continue to be created through a variation of resources, for example making Valentine’s cards/ junk art.
- To continue to increase the children’s confidence through structured role play – post office.
Physical Development and Movement
- Ball games centred around throwing and catching with control and coordination.
- Fine Motor Development with a focus upon developing pencil skills.
Early Mathematical Experiences
- To continue to reinforce comparative language during play, heavy/light, full/empty.
- To continue to reinforce shape, size and colour throughout the course of play.
- To continue to reinforce counting, shape and colours through role play.
World Around Us
- The importance of the environment with focus upon recycling and anti-littering.
Language Development
- To extend the children’s knowledge and ability to discuss our key themes with appropriate terms used;
- Post Office: package, stamp, parcel, letter, envelope.
- Recycling: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, paper, waste, glass, compost, biodegradable, environment, pollution.

- Sammy Squirrel: Friday 6th February.
- Mr Rat’s Recycling Roadshow: Tuesday 17th February.
- Paper Recycling Workshop: Friday 20th February.
Closure Reminders
- Wednesday 11th February – Staff Development.
- Thursday 12th February – Closed.
- Friday 13th February – Closed.
- We are open on the afternoon on the 11th of February from 1:30pm for those children who normally attend 6pm session.
